Dining locally is always encouraged here at Media News, but now and then, fast-food chains can provide a quick-and-easy solution to hunger pangs for San Antonians. That being said, a number of those chains have raised their menu prices in recent years, making it harder to satisfy your fast-food fix.
There are still national and local fast-food joints that don't charge an arm and a leg for something as simple as a cheeseburger combo or a taco plate. We've rounded up seven of these cheap options that have deals on the menu for $10 or less right now.
Burger Boy
This San Antonio staple now has 10 locations that offer the local chain's Bates Special, a burger combo that includes a single patty topped with mustard, lettuce, onion, tomato, and pickles, plus fries and a drink for $8.79. You can even add a slice of cheese to the burger for 59 cents, which keeps the total under $10 before taxes.
Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen
The KFC with a Cajun twist has a couple of combos that sit under the $10 mark. You can get a two-piece, bone-in chicken combo with a drink and a side for $9.09 or a spicy chicken sandwich with fries and a beverage for the same price.
Las Palapas
A handful of plates are priced at $9.99 or less at Las Palapas , such as the $9.29 cheese enchilada plate or the $9.99 combination plate, which includes one cheese enchilada, a crispy taco, homemade flour tortillas, refried beans, and rice. Similarly, several of the breakfast plate options, like the huevos a la Mexicana plate, range from $7 to $9.
Little Caesars
Have you ever heard of a Hot-N-Ready pizza? The large grab-and-go pizzas at Little Caesars are still affordable, with pepperoni or classic cheese options for $7.99. Little Caesars currently has a new pretzel crust pizza topped with pepperoni for $6.99 and a stuffed pretzel crust pizza for $9.99, so take advantage of that while you can.
P. Terry's Burger Stand
A cheeseburger on its own is $3.65 P. Terry's , and you can opt for the combo, which includes fries and a drink, for just $8. Pretty much all the combos sit under $10 before tax, so it's hard to go wrong at this Austin-based burger chain that has several locations around San Antonio.
Tia's Taco Hut
The San Antonio taco chain has a selection of its Mexican dishes priced under $10, such as the cheese enchiladas plate with rice, beans, and two tortillas. Keep in mind that prices may vary between locations. Tia's Taco Hut locations.
