Bonnaroo cancels remaining festival after NWS forecasts 'significant and steady' rain

MANCHESTER, Tenn. (WSMV) - Bonnaroo announced that the remainder of the festival has been canceled due to rain.

"Today the National Weather Service provided us with an updated forecast with significant and steady precipitation that will produce deteriorating camping and egress conditions in the coming days," Bonnaroo said in a post.

The festival said some campsites have already started deteriorating due to the rain that has moved through the area, so they are prioritizing getting those campers off The Farm Friday night.

Here are instructions on how to watch WSMV4 live on various platforms.

In order to get those in the rougher campsites off The Farm quicker, Bonnaroo is asking those in areas that are still in good shape to consider staying overnight.

Bonnaroo said they will continue operating Outeroo, including food vendors and health and safety posts.

We put our hearts and souls into making this weekend the most special one of the year, and cannot express how crushed we are to have to make this decision," Bonnaroo said. "Thank you for your patience, your positivity and your unfailing Bonnaroovian spirit.
